In this re-do of a thirty-year-old Italian job, a large group of heavy comic actors (James Belushi, John Candy, Richard Lewis, Sean Young, Cybill Shepherd, George Hamilton) gathers together to jump up and down on a balsa-light mystery comedy. Giancarlo Giannini, as the Monte Carlo homicide inspector, gives you somebody to look up to and to identify with by never once cracking a smile. Eugene Levy, an effortlessly funny actor with an uncredited cameo as a casino cashier, fulfills here a desire to direct, as distinct from a desire to direct something in particular. One detectable "personal" touch: George Hamilton, poolside, working his eyebrows in a distinctly Levy-esque way. (1992) — Duncan Shepherd
