Living the life of a Franciscan monk and devoting all his energy and legal know-how to the fight against slum landlords, Oliver Barrett IV reluctantly takes out his ice skates one day on the advice of his psychiatrist, and in the middle of Central Park his slumbering sexual curiosity is aroused by the jogging and giggling Marcie Nash Bonwit (of the department store Bonwits), who, in the course of a "tense" relationship, does not make Oliver come to terms with the memory of his dead wife, Jenny, but at least reconciles him to his social class and his millions -- a happy ending of sorts. With Ryan O'Neal, Candice Bergen, and Ray Milland; directed by John Korty. (1978) — Duncan Shepherd
