A bath of bathos: Michael Keaton dying of kidney cancer for two hours, gradually getting used to the idea, settling accounts, tying up loose ends, trying to hold on for the birth of his son, recording for him a narcissistic video of wit and wisdom (pure shtick), before finally taking that big rollercoaster up to heaven. It's pretty well summed up in a single line of dialogue: "I don't want you to feel bad about my dying." With Nicole Kidman (showing a new, kitteny likeness to Ann-Margret) and Haing S. Ngor; written and directed by Bruce Joel Rubin. (1993) — Duncan Shepherd
