Mythologizing biopic on the critical year of 1952 in the life of Che Guevara, before he was Che, when he was still just a med student called "Ernestito," embarking with his biochemist best friend on a road trip from his native Argentina, up the entire west coast of South America, on the back of "an aged, leaky 1939 Norton 500," nicknamed "The Mighty One". The motorcycle, after four spills, conks out in Chile, but the journey continues on foot: a desultory, mildly diverting narrative that, in the end, turns quite touching. With Gael García Bernal and Rodrigo De la Serna; directed by Walter Salles. (2004) — Duncan Shepherd
