The relationship thing. Old marrieds, new marrieds, engaged-to-be-marrieds. Kicked around in dialogue that seems to have an ear cocked for a laugh track ("He's still the most charming man I've ever met. I just can't stand to be with him right now" and "Fifty percent of all marriages end in divorce." "Yeah, not to mention all the ones that end in gunplay"). The main center of attention is a likable actress, Sarah Jessica Parker, and a likable character, mildly neurotic, mildly logorrheic. Both deserve better. With Gil Bellows, Antonio Banderas, Paul Mazursky, and Mia Farrow; written and directed by David Frankel. (1995) — Duncan Shepherd
