Customary good work by John Barry, in the music department, and Ted Moore, in cinematography. But the customary scriptwriters, Richard Maibaum and Tom Mankiewicz, seem to have squeezed their salaciousness to the last drip. For the first time, secret agent James Bland (again acted by the ho-hum and rather clumsy Roger Moore) seems to be undermatched. His unworthy foe is Christopher Lee, the aging grade-B arch-villain of Dracula and Fu Manchu movies, who is equipped with nothing but trifles -- a handcrafted gold gun and matching bullets, a third tit, and a pint-sized accomplice. Directed by Guy Hamilton. (1974) — Duncan Shepherd
