Two guiltless fugitives (brothers-in-law: the married one's surname is Husband) fall into the sympathetic clutches of Dr. Chilblains, a cryonics crackpot who takes them out of their difficulties by flash-freezing them. They are awakened twenty-nine years later to different difficulties, in 1991. The debatable decision to make both men dimwits (or worse) seriously compounds the natural confusion of the time-tripper, and it hampers the more sentimental stuff further along. Both kinds of material — the rib-tickling and the heart-tugging — are more effective than they have any right to be. With Brian Wimmer, Peter Berg, Marcia Gay Harden, and Colleen Flynn; written by Mark Andrus; directed by W.D. Richter. (1991) — Duncan Shepherd
