A large number of largely unknown actors and musicians (it's fairly easy and interesting to distinguish which are which) are plunked down in front of a camera to talk to it about their pursuit of the Hollywood success dream, with a lot of abrupt cutting in mid-thought, from one person to the next, to ensure that they all sound even more superficial than they tend to sound anyway. It is all pretty painful, but other aspiring entertainers might benefit from it as a sort of exercise in looking into a mirror. Directed by Frank and Caroline Mouris. (1979) — Duncan Shepherd
