The number of known names in the cast is depressing testimony to the difficulty of finding decent jobs in today's Hollywood. (Some of the knowns -- Edy Williams, Joyce Jillson -- appear exclusively in the credits and never make it onto the screen in the flesh.) All of them, most conspicuously George Hamilton and his flashing teeth, seem to have no inkling of what sort of sludge they've gotten themselves into. But Joey Heatherton, playing Xaviera Hollander, is surely the most cruelly deluded. She tosses off her limp quips (sample: "Is sex dangerous at seventy?" "Only if you're in a car driving fast when you try it") as if she imagines herself to be the new Mae West. In reality, she is just a punk. Directed by William Levey. (1977) — Duncan Shepherd
