A wasted opportunity for an interesting variation on the “everyone thinks the hero is crazy” theme. Part of the blame lies with the screenplay, which does too much to reassure us as to the heroine’s sanity — someone really did kidnap her and throw her down a hole — and not enough to explore the effects of her meds on her memory. Part of it also lies with the actress behind the heroine (Amanda Seyfried), who never manages to communicate the panic and distress she says she’s feeling. Heitor Dhalia directed.
