He not only lives, he ages at about one-fifth the rate of the rest of us. But his music (that is, the John Cafferty music he lip-syncs to) has not stayed ahead of the times into the Eighties; it's still imitating Springsteen. The instructional value in this is precisely as high as before ("Music's gotta live, man! It's gotta breathe!"), and because the rocker's new girlfriend is a painter, we get equally deep insights into the art world as well (a gallery dealer chewing out the artist for having sold only two paintings midway through her first opening). With Michael Paré; directed by Jean-Claude Lord. (1989) — Duncan Shepherd
