They are fur balls of various sizes, with uniformly sharp teeth, red glowing eyes, and poisonous projectile quills. And, as you can tell from the title, they are not too serious. They have escaped from a prison asteroid in outer space and set down in Andrew Wyeth country, pursued by a couple of waxen bounty hunters who can mold themselves at will into the likeness of earthlings. (For their models, one of them chooses a heavy-metal pop star and the other selects a recently deceased local deputy, complete with bashed skull and trickles of blood.) Director Stephen Herek does not let his low budget hold down his spirits. The jokes are often enough funny, too often just dopey, and always rapid in their delivery. With Dee Wallace Stone and Billy Green Bush. (1986) — Duncan Shepherd
