The movies of writer and director James B. Harris are few and far between (The Bedford Incident in 1965, Some Call It Loving in '73, something called Fast-Walking, but neither seen nor heard, in '82), so it's understandable he should want to throw everything but the kitchen sink into the opening minutes of Cop. It leaves him, however, a little arm-weary and light-headed for the long haul. And the kitchen sink, when thrown, lands with a dull thud. James Woods, Lesley Ann Warren, Charles Durning.
