Sentimental, even goopy, ghost story about a promising young yachtsman whose near-death car wreck leaves him with the ability to See Dead People, most particularly and regularly, every day at sunset for a game of catch, the adoring younger brother who perished in the passenger seat. (The first time he’s late for the appointment in five years, his little brother starts blubbering.) A promising young yachtswoman comes along at last to lure him away from the land of the dead, and his day job at a graveyard, back to the land of the living. Zac Efron in sensitive mode practically looks as if he could be, or rather could have been, in a Visconti film. With Amanda Crew, Charlie Tahan, Ray Liotta, and Kim Basinger; directed by Burr Steers.
