A British sickie with raw, scabby, anemic color to match. It concerns a pathological Thelma and Louise by the names of Eunice and Miriam, or Eu and Mi for short (or You and Me for deep), a homicidal loon and an apologetic simp: "I never stopped looking for the good in her," explains the latter, as the body count rises in flashback. Amanda Plummer, looking more and more like her father Christopher from the neck up, and not in the least like him from trachea to coccyx (a torso festooned with nipple rings, chains, bruises, tattoos), throws herself into the lunatic's role with a blind commitment to a bad cause. One way or another, the intended way or not, she causes considerable discomfort. With Saskia Reeves; directed by Michael Winterbottom. (1994) — Duncan Shepherd
