Two shipwrecked children of opposite sexes come of age all by themselves in an island paradise, and as in the Garden of Eden the female proves to be the inquisitive, trouble-making one. Randal Kleiser's remake of the old Henry DeVere Stacpoole tale parades under the banner of Natural Beauty, but it is hard to credit the selection of sunsets, surf, exotic animal life, and such, with any greater sensitivity than the selection of the leading actor and actress: a pug-nosed California surfer (Christopher Atkins) and a haughty Vogue model of indeterminable age and experience (Brooke Shields).
