Their Excellent Adventure was an unexpectedly big hit, so its sequel is expectedly bigger: lavish visions of the future, heaven, hell, and points between. The premise is a Terminator-type mission: two "evil twin robots" (twins of Bill and Ted, not of each other) sent back from the future to murder their human doubles before their history-altering appearance at a local Battle of the Bands. The robots' identicalness to their targets, down to the last little fatuity, leaves you no one to root for. Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter; directed by Pete Hewitt. (1991) — Duncan Shepherd
