Claude Miller, in his first directing assignment, exhibits much sensitivity, restraint, neatness, and thoroughness in dealing with what used to be spoken of as a Gide-ian relationship in a summer boys' camp. It's a relief that the focus of attention in such a locale is on the counselors rather than the children, inasmuch as the counselors are childish enough as it is. One of them is a classic sissy and another is a classic bully, and the psychological tensions between them are very subtly drawn. Much less subtly drawn is the head of the camp: Claude Pieplu in yet another pompous-ass performance. With Patrick Dewaere. (1975) — Duncan Shepherd
