Young Frankenstein
No comedian gets to his inner child faster, or stays longer, than Mel Brooks. He loves to spin expectations on their ear, and resorts to humor so blue its cobalt. Young Frankenstein is based on his 1974 movie. It tries to stuff every moment into the musical and runs long as a result. But the excellent Moonlight Stage production is also long on talent. Credit to director/choreographer Matthew J. Vargo, and technical coordinator Justin A. M.M. Hall (who uses sets and properties from the Broadway touring show), and to a large and spirited cast, led by Larry Raben as young Frederick F., the brilliand Jessica Bernard (Elizabeth), Tracy Lore (Frau Blucher), Jamie Torcellini (Igor), Noelle Marion (Inga), and Randall S. Hickman, whose Hulk-like monster goes "Puttin' on the Ritz."
