Wonderspaces Virtual Reality Showcase
What is the Wonderspaces VR Showcase? Visitors will begin their one-hour experience by sitting down to DINNER PARTY directed by Angel Soto and written by Charlotte Stoudt and Laura Wexler. The film is based on the accounts of Betty and Barney Hill, the couple who experienced America’s first nationally-reported UFO abduction in the 1960s. After exploring the Hills’ otherworldly adventures, visitors will be invited to find their joy with two infectious animated films by Tyler Hurd. OLD FRIEND, presented by Wevr, invites visitors to an animated dance party in a psychedelic squall of energy and color, and CHOCOLATE, casts visitors as a robot god in a chrome-tinted world. Spread cats throughout the sky to the music of Giraffage. The Showcase finishes with TRANSITION, by Joost Jordens and Mike von Rotz, a short film inspired by the music of Kettel & Secede. A metaphor for death and the afterlife, this final piece takes visitors on a journey from one world to the next.
