Tour the Farley Mowat
1492 N. Harbor Drive, San Diego, 92101
Cost: Free
Sea Shepherd's Vessel the M/V Farley Mowat is in San Diego, having just returned from a successful campaign in the northern Sea of Cortez where they were working to remove illegal fishing gear in an effort to protect the extremely endangered vaquita porpoise, as well as other species threatened by the illegal buche trade. With values of up to $10,000 USD in china, the swim bladders of the totoaba are driving a hit and run gill-netting industry that is threatening the ecosystem of one of the most diverse marine biosphere's in the world. While they are in town, the crew is extending an invitation to the public to tour the ship on the weekends.
