ThoughtSTEM
Learn to write code in this fast-paced code-writing workshop. Students age 8–14 can choose from a variety of challenges designed to introduce them to programming and build their skill set. The challenges are self-paced so students can join at any time.
Students learn by doing with the help of ThoughtSTEM trained mentors. There are no lectures. First-timers have the option of starting with material specifically designed to engage students with no coding background. We start with simple projects in Scratch and slowly build the complexity of each consecutive challenge to encourage students to think like a programmer, not just copy and paste code from a workbook.
Upon completing a challenge, each student earns a specific "achievement card" which makes it easy to track your child’s progress and provides the students with greater motivation to attempt more complex project. For those with programming experience, we have plenty of challenges in advanced languages such as Javascript too.
