August 1st through September from 9 am - 5 pm weekdays, in the Great Room at the La Jolla Community Center, 6811 La Jolla Blvd, La Jolla, CA.
A reception for the artist will be held on Saturday, August 4th from 5 - 7 pm and Sept. 22nd from 3 - 5 pm. The exhibition and reception is free and open to the public.
Dana Levine, a nationally known, award winning artist who lives in La Jolla, uses a camera, computer and a paintbrush to create scenes that evoke a sense of place and time. The artist says, "Transforming the world I see into a work of art is an exciting adventure for me. After spending my professional career as a scientist and science educator, I moved to San Diego, renewed my interest in art, and took up photography. I now think about visual, impressionistic images rather than chemical symbols and mathematical equations. I strive to infuse my work with light and air to show the innate, vulnerable beauty all around us."
