Addressing Her Story & My Cup of Tea
St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center (SMSC) will present Addressing Her Story and My Cup of Tea, a collection of paintings by Kathleen Kane-Murrell and teapots, teacups and saucers by the ceramic artists of Sophie’s Gallery. The show will run from January 4 - 25, 2020, with a public reception on January 11 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00. Kathleen Kane-Murrell in Addressing Her Story uses the shape of a dress as an artistic metaphor. Through the repetitive contour, she tells narratives about place, memory, and experiences. Through color, texture, and high touch surfaces, Kane-Murrell’s artwork focuses on memory, transition and repetition. She works in a variety of media and often using classroom detritus in her mixed media work.
