Shockheaded Peter

Cost: $42 - $82
Julian Crouch and Phelim McDermott's one-act musical, which combines dark German children's stories with a Tim Burton-like aesthetic, leaves you disturbed and tapping your toes. Sarah Errington walks through the origin ofShockheaded Peter, with occasional interruptions by Steve Gouveia as Siren, to sing morality tales, most of which end with children dying. Societal expectations on gender and family abound to encourage the audience to question their impact on children. Director Rob Lutfy and his talented gorup of artistic collaborators provide a unique time in the theater.Worth a try.Review by Jon Reimer.
