William Nicholson's drama follows renowned novelist and Christian scholar, C.S. Lewis, who fell in love late in life with Joy Davidman, an American Poet. Their happiness is short-lived as Davidman learns she has cancer. Real life husband and wife Robert and Deborah Gilmour Smyth bring subtle nuances and gentle longing to the characters' emotional journey. On an elegant and sparse stage, with lighting literally rising from shadowlands, the Lamb's cast brings to life a little known story of love, faith, and letting go. Worth a try.
