Sewing for a Cause
Sewing Basics for a Cause is a class for beginning teen and adult sewers who have little to no experience with a sewing machine. In the class we will learn the parts of a machine and its operation. We will practice different types of stitches and sewing things together as we create quilts to donate to the Trauma Intervention Program, a volunteer group that partners with first responders in North County.
It is an informal class that has a brief period of instruction and then facilitated hands on practice. All materials are provided, including machines. However, you can always bring your own machine. Depending on the number of participants, students may need to share a machine.
Maximum 20 participants. If you would like to sit and do needle work, crochet, or knit in a convivial environment without taking the class, you are more than welcome to sit n’ stitch.Sixth grade through adult. Not on the 1st Tuesday of the Month.
