Queer Shakespeare just in time for Pride wins with Ruff Yeager's new play, performed by Roustabouts Theatre Company. Summer stock director Simon (Brian Mackey) rehearses Nancy (Michelle Marie Tester) and Tracy (Michael Silberblatt) in Romeo and Juliet as complicated desires among the three must be dealt with. This ensemble skillfully judges emotional dynamics of epic proportions. Tester hilariously prattles and wisecracks as Nancy, stealing the show and hearts of audiences. Silberblatt charms as Tracy, and Mackey's Simon energizes the stage. Amply directed by Kim Strassburger, the show delivers on both laughs and sincerity.Critic's Pick.
