Cygnet Theatre's production of the Cy Coleman, Betty Comden, and Adolph Green musical is silly. But it's theatrically silly to the max -- and a grand, if at times overloaded homage to the big musicals of a bygone era. Egomaniacal Oscar Jaffee has 16 hours, aboard a luxury train, to turn his misfortunes around. He must write a hit show, finance it, and cast his ex-lover, Lily Garland, rampant diva, who swore she'd murder him on sight. This show exudes vitality and boasts excellent performances by Sean Murray (Oscar) and Eileen Bowman (Lily). Critic's Pick.
