Neil Simon's popular comedy concerns Barney Cashman, a married nebbish eager to join the sexual revolution, but has no idea how to do it. Phil Johnson, an actor born to do comedy,plays him at North Coast Rep to great effect.. As the hard and cynical sexpot, Elaine, Katwie Karel has comic ability but loses many a strong laugh. Noelle Marion is somewhat more successful as Bobbi, a crazy actress. She creates a fun character but isn't as stonedas the script requires.Sandy Campbell brings Jeannette, Barney's wife's best friend, fully to life, and her comedic vibes are well matched to Johnson's.Worth a try.
