Monty Python's Spamalot
You could call it King Arthur's nightmare. As he and his mates of the Round Table quest for the Holy Grail, instead of righting wrongs and rescuing damosels in distress, they confront a Trojan Rabbit, knights who say "ni," and all manner of untoward opposition. The Tony Award-winning musical's in fine hands at Cygnet Theatre, thanks to standout work by Sean Murray (King Arthur) and Christine Hewitt (Lady of the Lake with glowing vocal chops). Bryan Banfield, James Saba, and David S. Humphrey excel in multiple roles, and the rest of the cast, directed by Murray, dances, cavorts, and pratfalls with elan. Mostly played loud, the production could use more calmer sections, and the videos are long in the tooth, but the Monty Python spirit reigns supreme.Critic's Pick.
