#MeToo Art Exhibit
#METOO is an art exhibit from the Latin American Art Festival, on display at the Women's Museum of California from April 6 - 29, 2018. #metoo is not a fight borne of anger, it is not a declaration of war against men, and it is not a witch-hunt. #metoo is a strong, unified, voice that seeks to put an end to silencing those who have been hurt, and to say out loud, “No more!” #metoo is a worldwide call for all to stand against being silenced about abuse and to denounce it. #metoo has brought awareness for the need for a conversation to stop sexual abuse, harassment, aggression, humiliation, and discrimination. It is time to put an end to suffering in silence, to avoiding the reality of abuse, and to hiding in pain. Now is the time to yell the truth because truth becomes beauty, freedom, dignity, and equality for all of humanity. The truth shines in art, the making of art, and is reflected in art. The pieces presented by these ten female artists seek to encourage future generations to bring and preserve equality, dignity, and beauty in our world.
