Silkworms World Premier
Local playwright presents world premiere of Silkworms: Connie Terwilliger is known for her acting and voice over work in San Diego. Her story is of 3 generations of strong women whose struggles for love and the beauty of life play out in different ways. The grandmother, an immigrant with the wisdom of age. The daughter, driven to achieve perfection at the expense of love and happiness. The granddaughter, much like her mother, striving to find balance. This story is mostly true, the names have been changed to protect the innocent. It is clearly autobiographical, featuring a younger Connie, her mom, and her grandmother. Much of her grandmother's dialog was taken from a two-hour cassette tape that her mother asked her to record.
