Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

The Andrew Lloyd Webber musical combines the biblical tale of Joseph and his jealous brothers with a potpourri of musical styles and many-colored costumes. This isn't Thomas Mann's seven-volume epic; it's Sunday School meets MTV. San Diego Musical Theatre often has over 40 people on stage and, thanks to Ron Kellum's direction, on the same page. Eric Kunze and Bethany Slomka stand out as Joseph and the narrator. Although the story plays second fiddle to the pizzazz, the expert choreography, the spunk, and rich choral voices make for an always entertaining evening.
