Jeanne Dunn: Forest Bathing
7661 Girard Avenue, suite 201, San Diego, 92037
Cost: Free
Jeanne Dunn's bold colors and semi-realistic forms take their cue from the idea of immersion in one’s sensations and individual experiences of an arboreal place. There’s a term for this in Japanese, where engaging in shinrin-yoku, or literally a “forest-bath,” is a time-honored practice of walking in the woods for its benefits to the mind and body. Her intention is to subvert common assumptions about Nature and to celebrate its agency and omnipresence.
