This play about survival shows us an actress in command of her art. For Moxie Theatre, Jacque Wilke gives a stirring and consistently believable performance as Darja, a Polish immigrant. At a Garden State bus stop, Darja encounters three men. Tommy (Eric Casalini) is her cheating boyfriend, infused with all the grit of a sub-standard urban life. Maks (Arusi Santi), her first husband, has a raw charisma that runs deep. Vic (Carter Piggee) is a teenaged drug dealer who's not much older than Darja's wayward son. As directed with a sure hand by Jennifer Eve Thorn, the rhythms of accents and speech patterns interweave seamlessly for a rich theatrical experience.Critic's Pick.
