Over the course of our time together we’ll look at ways to discover and develop your unique writing voice, we’ll delve into the use of memory and imagination and their roles in creative writing, we’ll examine and try out different aspects of the craft. We’ll read examples of creative writing from various sources and work with both take-home assignments and in-class exercises. Expect lively discussions and a friendly community as we embark on our creative writing journey. 1. Creative Writing Essentials (what it is) 2. On Being a Writer (about structure/habits/practice, etc) 3. Ways to Creativity (can writing be taught? Artandcraft) 4. Finding Ideas (Imagination and Memory) 5. Finding Our Voices (This is the sound of my voice) 6. Sustaining the Process $725 (20%discount over taking these five courses separately!) if youbuy all five CREATIVE WRITING classes at once.This discount is only good for members. If you purchased these classes separately the price would be $900. It is suggested that students in the certificate program attend a reading or prompt group, or a poetry, screenwriting, journaling, blogging, or one-off workshop in a specialized genre that will be covered in more depth, such as writing/researching historic fiction or creating worlds for fantasy universes.
