Roland, a beekeeper, meets Marianne, a physicist, at a party. Neither is adept at romance. He says the wrong thing. Blackout. Same scenario, and maybe they hit it off. Nick Payne's drama sends the two into a multiverse of possibilities for each situation: meeting, dating, infidelity, loss. Christian Coulson and Victoria Frings perform these sudden leaps without a hitch. The show's technical achievements are most impressive. But often watching difficulties overcome becomes more engaging than emotional involvement with the characters. Worth a try.
