Bachlorette
Sometimes it's easier to drown your sorrows in alcohol, cocaine, and OTC meds than face reality -- until reality comes crashing down around you. Leslye Headland set her comedy-farce in the hotel room of a young woman about to be wed. Her three friends from college crash the room, along with two boys they met outside. Nothing goes as planned. The play showcases the stress of adulthood wrapped up in undergarments,a ripped wedding gown, vomit, and champagne, and a character who almost overdoses. However, it also carries the sweet undertones of a guy who really just wants to take care of a woman -- even though they met only hours before. The Backyard Renaissance ensemble cast leaves it all onstage, fully immersing the audience in the party scene of a night gone nearly horribly wrong. Worth a try.
