March-April Art Exhibits
The Athenaeum Music & Arts Library is pleased to announce the exhibits for March and April of 2019. In the Joseph Clayes III Gallery we will be exhibiting Jim Machacek’s “Music in the Key of Blue,” including a series of 70 mixed-media painterly prints representing Jim’s visualization of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. In the Rotunda Gallery, artist Sibyl Rubottom presents a new series of 2-D and 3-D textile work. “This series combines my lifelong practices of working with fabric and printmaking,” says Rubottom. In the North Reading Room, an exhibit entitled “Images Louder than Words” will contain selected works from the library’s artists’ books collection. The exhibits will be on display from March 16 through May 4. Please see our website for more details on the exhibits and the hours that the library is open.
