Rachel Bonds uses a conventional format -- existentially floundering woman returns to her childhood home to find directions -- but in an experimental way. Today people go tosporting events and watch them ongiant TV screens. Bonds does the opposite. She presents information in almost minute amounts, with no instant replay, and the audience must watch the play,static on the surface, like a detective inspecting for clues. Connections happen, how important or for how long remain questions. Director Jaime Castenada and the La Jolla Playhouse actors honor this approach, though they add little depth to their characters. Not a piecefor challenged attention spans.Worth a try.
