Anything Goes
1200 Vale Terrace, Vista, 92084
A jilted Billy Crocker, the "broken down broker," steals on board the S.S. America and, sailing to the songs of Cole Porter, learns that "anything goes" on their way to England. Moonlight Stage Productions offers a solid staging o the 1934 musical. The book, even after many re-revisions, still sags on occasion (though making it resemble a Marx Brothers movie adds comic punch). Stand out performances by Jeffrey Scott Parsons and Barry Pearl and Art Deco sets by N. Dixon Fish enhance throughout. And the full-on tap number for "Anything Goes," led by young Hannah Bagalot, is alone worth the price of admission.
Worth a try.
