The epic tale follows a Nubian princess cklaptured by an Egyptian captain, Radamnes. The two fall tragically in love, their fate determined by Radames' betrothed, Princess Amneris. For Moonlight Amphitheatre's production, Daebreon Ploeima gives the lead role grace, strength, and amazing vocal and acting talent. Richard Bermedez' Radames exudes physical and vocal power. Bets Malone injects humor and compassion as Amneris. The Elton John score infused rock into the dclassic opera, but also lends to a few forced dance breaks. The script is weak at times, but the talent carries the show.Aidais a must-see with an ending that offers hope for a forever love.Critic's Pick.
