The Salty Series: Smoke Show
Necking has been a free-punk improvising collective since 2004. For this event, they’ve invited like-minded collaborators, including past members, to participate in a series of stunts that break Necking into its composite parts and themes. This five chapter essay will cite influences lofty and lowly, using the language of some of our best misfits.
Known for its freely rotating lineup built around a few central members, the collective now proudly features Amy Cimini, Nick Lesley, and Nathan Berlinguette. Their signature free-punk sound is a raw, communal form of improvisation that’s fast and loud, exhausting and cathartic; it’s a celebration of friendship and creative spontaneity.
For this “one night only” performance, Necking will be joined by Michael Buehl, Aaron Demuth, Ana Díaz De Cossio, Alethia Espinal, Nathan Hubbard, Shayla James, Alia Jaywook, Anishka Lee-Skorepa, Jota M, Batya MacAdam-Somer, Christian Molenaar, Scott Nielsen, Linda Posada, Josh Quon, Kathia Rudametkin, Michael Trigilio, Ilana Waniuk, and more.
