Food Waste Tie Dye & Plant Dye Basics
Participants will receive pretreated cloth napkins or a tea towel ready to dye (you will leave the class with one of a kind item for your next gathering or meal), hands-on instruction on how to pretreat fabric for lasting color, several food waste dyes to work with in class and guidance on how to prepare them at home, overview of tie dye methods to obtain a variety of patterns and shapes, and handouts with step by step tutorials on fiber preparation, tips for setting up a dye studio of your own, and access to videos covering several dye methods including eco printing, bundle dying and immersion baths should you wish to continue this practice outside our class time
