Household Saints
Dear San Diego movie people: yes, the Oscar noms came out this week, but the Oscar noms come every year and then vanish into the past. You know what stays? The saints. They’re eternal! Even the ordinary household kind have staying power: Household Saints came out way back in 1993, but it’s playing tonight at the Digital Gym. And in a rare instance of something getting better with age, it’s been restored and remastered by Lightbox Film Center. Best of all: director Nancy Savoca will be in attendance for a Q&A, as will co-writer and producer Rich Guay! Return to the glory days of indie film! Ask about working with a young Vincent D’Onofrio! Forget the awards stuff: that’s all PR. This is movies! Trailer here. Duncan Sheperd's flinty but two-star review here.
