In conjunction with the current exhibition “In Pursuit of Light”, the gallery is hosting a lecture on California Impressionism presented by Leon Okun and Alex Schaefer.
The lecture focuses on a journey to the time and place when a writer, and a painter, worked side by side “in the field”, be it at the labor camps of Salinas, or on the fishing docks of Monterey, recording stories of common folk that forever changed the world. A time when a new nation was forged in the fire of the great depression.
