Cost: Free
Dark Skies Valley Center and the Valley Center County Library will host a pre-solar eclipse event, open to the public. The theme of this event is How to Safely View a Solar Eclipse. The solar eclipse will occur on Monday April 8. The library will be distributing free solar viewing safety glasses. Dark Skies Valley Center will provide solar telescopes and solar filtered binoculars for safe solar viewing by all attendees. Hopefully everyone will be able to safely see sunspots. The sun is expected to be its most active between January and October 2024.
