The Athenaeum Art Center and Bread & Salt present tenor saxophonist Wayne Escoffery at the head of a quartet featuring pianist Dave Kikoski, bassist Ugonna Okegwo, and drummer Marvin “Smitty” Smith. For his San Diego debut as a leader, Escoffery will include pieces by landmark tenor sax giant Harold Land, who grew up in the 1940s and 1950s on National Avenue in Barrio Logan.
