Stay Strange Summer Series
June 03 - Randy Chiurazzi: The Sound Music Suit project grew out of Randy’s interest in sound waves as a type of sculpture. He can mount any object on the suit (machine parts, feathers, etc.) as well as trigger sounds with sensors.
July 01 - Evil Dr. Lipschitz and Wool Crowbar: Evil Dr. Lipschitz and Wool Crowbar produce biomechanical electroacoustic improvisational music, deriving botanical drone rock from the sounds generated by light and plants, engaging in sonic wizard battles.
July 29 - Bobby Bray: For this event Bobby will be trying some new techniques out. This will include using a Turkish Saz, as well as utilizing an interface he built using microcontrollers and an IBM joystick from the 1980s to control effects he made in an environment known as Pure Data. The theme of the performance will be an homage to humans no longer living. The pieces will include an explanation of the tools and ideas used, revealing what’s ‘under the hood.
